Portrait of Liz

About

Hi, I'm Liz.

A traveler, photographer and quiet observer of beautiful, ordinary things.

I grew up between cities and small towns, always with a notebook in my pocket. Somewhere along the way, the notebook became a camera, the camera became a sketchbook, and all of them became this little corner of the internet.

LizWanders is where I keep the moments that didn't fit anywhere else — the half-stories, the side streets, the postcards I never sent. I hope you find something here that makes you want to slow down, go somewhere new, or look at where you already are with softer eyes.

"Travel doesn't make you better. It makes you smaller — in the best, gentlest way."

Travel philosophy

I travel to be smaller. I plan less, walk more, and follow the light. The best places I've found were never on a list — they were a wrong turn, an open door, a question asked with bad grammar.

Photography & art

My camera is a Leica Q2 most days, a Fuji X100V when I want to disappear. I paint mostly in watercolor and ink — quiet mediums for quiet subjects. Every image and painting here was made by hand.

What I believe in

Slow looking

The world reveals itself when you stay a little longer than planned.

Quiet curiosity

I'd rather wander a small alley well than rush a famous landmark.

Light over location

A familiar street at golden hour can be the trip of a lifetime.

Hand-made memory

I sketch and write, because phones forget what hands remember.
